During my local farmers market visit, I brouhgt some pomfret for grilling. I don't like pomfret much because I think It is a beautiful fish, but not upto it when it comes to taste. Because of this beauty,I can't resist the feeling to buy this fish. I didn't get time to for grilling, but I easily managed with my broiler. The dish was good in taste to my surprise.
Recipe follows:-
Pomfret - 325 gm
Ginger- garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Ajwain - 1/2 tsp
Mustard oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - As needed

Garam masala - 1 tsp
Ajwain - 1/2 tsp
Besan - 2 tsp
Lemon juice- 1 tbspMustard oil - 1 tbsp

Clean and make deep slits in fish. Mix all the items together and apply on cleaned fish. Allow to marinate it atleast 2 hours in the fridge. Bake at 375 degree for 15 minutes. Then broil each side for 3 minutes. Keep an eye on fish during broiling time. It may get burnt due to high heat. Enjoy with rice!!

ReplyDeleteSurya does the fish really become crispy they way it does if u pan roast it ????
ReplyDeleteI have tried baking a few times but its always turns out dry and soft .
Shweta, you have to broil the fish almost 5" away from the heat source. After broiling, keep the fish covered in Aluminium foil to retain moisture.Hope this helps.
